Hi Chester,

I believe the author is William C. Martell, with the title of the book being "Visual Storytelling (screenwriting Blue Books)". I could be wrong, here. If I am, I'm sure Babz will correct me. The book I found is available on kindle: http://www.amazon.com/Visual-Storytelling-Screenwriting-Blue-Books-ebook/dp/B0078FXAMA.

Babz, another great show. Can I say I loved the new opening theme. Can't wait for the next theme.

Thank you for all you do for us :)

Dan

BEYOND KIND, words do heal and help don't they? So back at cha. I don't really make resolutions but I have noticed I am going to dial dial my complaining. I seem to do that a bit more in the last year anyway, I have seen it, and it bites. Hugs on ya. bb

Thanks babz - i hope 2014 smiles upon you a little more. :)

As usual i enjoyed the show. Its always great to here the topics you have on your mind. One thing that jumped out at me was your comments on writing action, and fight scenes. Earlier this year i finished a feature, still at first draft stage, and within that i had to write some fast paced action scenes. Trying to be creative with these and making them flow was harder than expected, very hard in fact. Sounds like i could do with reading a jack reacher novel!!

Which leads me to my next thought, which is the writing style. I have a read a few scripts that take a very lean approach, with using -- or ... within sentences to sped them up by removing the need for lots of 'he does', 'she does' etc The last one was the Nightcrawler script which employed the ... it was rather effective.

I can't say i have ever nailed the type of writing style that would be best. One to ponder upon.

In terms of your grammar story, If there is one thing i have learnt since starting to write scripts is that feedback can be painful to hear, but it's essential to accept, assuming it has a point, which most does. It amazes me how some people react to you. it just seems common sense to keep things civil.

all the best

My god, when the music started, I thought you were going to begin with the theme from 2001.

Gifted writer? He stole my title. I earned that through years of just being awesome and skill.

Snarky's always been one of my favorite words. Good call.

Aw, Babz, you did it... Called it "Pewlitzer". =(

Well, there goes the tradition of the #1 option in the house that Babz built...

I quote Max Payne, "You'd soon find out that Lady Luck is a hooker and you're fresh out of cash."

"Don't forget to live... your... life." - Make me. Lol. =)

Overall, good stuff and the final song seriously reminded me of the Violin Concerto in D Major that was used in "There Will Be Blood".

I'm the wrong place to go for cheap to make action. I only plan on doing one and it's probably in the $80-100 million range. Getting a little pricey.
