Writing Challenge #6 - Hallowed Log.

Your challenge, if you choose to accept it, is to write a short script (5-12 pages), horror genre, based on the following logline.

A hit and run driver, consumed with guilt, starts to exhibit the same injuries as his victim.

The deadline is the 11th hour of October 12th GMT. Send the finished script to me (webmaster@writerarena.com) with WC6 as the subject and please include your screen name and the title in the email. The voting is anonymous so please do not include your name on the title page. If you are feeling particularly generous you might include this byline on the title page From an idea by Libby Chambers, since it is her logline.

You may not change the story but you can change the gender of the main character. Enjoy!

Thank god for the longer deadline - good idea.

I have to say this wasn't my choice of logline but it has potential. I think I will try and keep this one simple and quick, against my usual of overly complicated and deep.

At first I thought three weeks! Fancy complaining about getting too much time.  ::) I work better under the hammer that's all, but considering there will probably be another challenge coming up 'elsewhere' I think this extra time is a good idea. Good idea the main character being male or female too, forgot to include that, last minute.

Re the byline, nice gesture Michael I appreciate it, but to everyone else I won't be offended in the slightest if it's omitted. The work is in the writing, that's the hard part.

October is usually a busy screenwriting month - which is why I gave you plenty of time.  So no excuses. :-)

Just read my emails and saw this challenge.  I thought, I don't have the time to think of an idea but then 'bam' one just popped in my head; beginning to end, just like that.  I think I could probably get this down in no time so I guess I'll give this a go.  Funny how ideas just pop out of nowhere.

Oh hang on, as I'm new to this, does the 'hallowed log' have anything to play in the story?  I hope not.

I often think a good challenge would be to randomly give out titles and see what writers could come up with for them.

The "hallowed log" is a just a name I gave the challenge and has nothing to do with the story.

Rats. I was considering working it in.  :P
Come to think of it, I just might anyway. Just because.

I love the way Alffy changed his sig to: '...I'm an idiot'  ;D

And Alex, you've got almost 3 weeks. C'mon!  ;) I haven't even thought up my story yet, and it's my logline - could potentially be very embarrassing.
