from the read it and don't weep corner:

http://www.studiosystemnews.com/to-spec-or-not-to-spec-new-realities-may-mean-more-opportunities-for-writers/

Thanks Babz, makes you wonder why we all put ourselves through it !!!!!

I laugh every time Joe Eszterhas and "Basic Instincts" is mentioned. He was paid 3Million after a bidding frenzy and I recall reading an article by him were he was asked by the purchasers "How long did it take you to write it?". He responded "It was in development for some time" I think he said a year or two.
He said after receiving the 3 Million, "I didn't want to tell them it took me 14 days".

This gets me every time.

I read the entire 107 page script. There is not a single DISSOLVE, CUT TO, SERIES OF SHOTS, MONTAGE, INSERT, INTERCUT,  CAMERA DIRECTION or fancy technique in the entire script. Only scene headings, description and dialogue.
His focus is on telling the story through clear, lean, unencumbered writing.

Although in my opinion. He could have made the genre much stronger and the entire story much cleaner and clearer, If had omitted all profanity in the entire story.

Thanks rookies, you are right there...

I guess when your a pro with such a track record you can do what you like and people like him do things the way they are used to and don't care what the so called industry experts say.

His favorite song is probably "I did it my way" Hahahaha

Regards Alex

PS Sorry Babz, we have hijacked your thread.

I have a paper copy of Basic Instinct. I bought it many years ago when computers were still not in everyones homes. It's still one of my favorite scripts and I've probably read thousands by now.  :)

Is Kissy Kiss Kiss? The title of an unproduced broad comedy or romantic comedy screenplay motion picture film?

Or is it a sweet Valentines Day Drama or comedy screenplay motion film designed especially for the month of February and the sweet chocolate holiday?
