Guilty Pleasures
« on: May 11, 2013, 01:04:45 PM »
Sure, it's easy to say your favorite movie is "The Godfather" or "Gone With the Wind."
You like "Casablanca?"   Sure, who doesn't love the classics?

But, we all have a favorite not-so-classic movie we watch alone in the dark.
A less than perfect film we can not resist watching again and again.

It's time to fess up, people.

Which film(s)  is your guilty pleasure?

Oh, man, I'm one of those people with pretty bad tastes in movies. What can I say? I'm a decent sucker for video game movies; Super Mario Bros., Mortal Kombat, Doom and Silent Hill. There's lots of others, but I think there's a character limit on these posts so I'll quit while I'm only slightly behind. Lol. =)

I've actually never seen Gone With The Wind.

The Secretary is a good film. Along with The Shag and Muriel's Wedding. Just naming a few since I have hundreds.  :)

I watched it once for a bet. My sister didn't think I could get through it... She was right...

As for my guilty pleasures... One of my favorite films to watch with friends has also been dubbed the worst movie ever made by critics. We like watching it for all the wrong reasons... Yes, it's so bad, it's good. Troll 2.

Here's the funniest bit.

Pretty much anything with a volcanic eruption.  They're all pretty much the same - flaky science and stereotypical stories but I usually find them fun anyway.

I'm shocked no one's mentioned any "Straight to SyFy" movies yet. There's lots of classics to choose from...

The Lost Boys, Rocky IV, Commando -- Ok, well a lot of films from the 80's. Schwarzenegger was a god then and each movie was tailored for him. Even lower rent 80's films like the Dolph Lundgren Punisher and the Schwarzenegger/James Belushi/Walter Hill classic Red Heat still hold some fun qualities to it that could only be found in cheesy films from the 80's.

I usually watch this every time I need a good laugh.  Not everyone shares my sense of humor, but I think it's hilarious...

It predates Spinal Tap by a few years, so this could be the first mockumentary.  However, now that I think about it, Woody Allen's "Take the Money and Run "  has a few years on this.

Daniel Botha (and every Beatle fan for that matter) should check this out.

I watch Kill Bill whenever it's on. It's my favorite QT film.

That clip is hilarious, Dave! I became a fan of the Beatles after having them repeatedly shoved down my throat by a mate of mine. Particularly interested in the scene at the start when they were dodging through all the cars. Crack up :D

This! And I want to throw in some classic Steven Seagal and Jean Claude Van Damme movies as well like Above the Law or Bloodsport. Classics.

Dr. Seuss' The Cat in the Hat with Mike Myers is definitely a guilty pleasure. Although I know the jokes are horrid, the whole thing makes me laugh.

The original "Arthur" with Dudley Moore. I have watched it over and over again and still laugh at the same lines every time.

Also "Porkies"
