Mission Statement:

External:
No hook
No meeting
No meeting
No money
No money
No talent
No talent
No film---

Internal:
No film, No money
No money, no read
No read, no agent

KNOW HOOK!

Quote from George Clooney:

“The last time I got paid full freight was The Perfect Storm, when I had no back end,” he said. “From then on, I’ve taken a minor partial upfront payment and gambled on the back end on all my movies. Some have underperformed, but they have never been designed for huge grosses. I’ve gambled and invested as much as a studio; if they’re making a film for $15 million and I put my $7.5 million in the pot, we’re all investors who are staked in its performance. I’m comfortable with that.”

Great advice and I would do the same !!! Take a reduced upfront payment for a screenplay in return for a cut of the action.

This oozes confidence in a screenwriter or actor.

Someone else was having that problem.  It's a weird one because it's all mixed on the same tracks.  It works completely fine for me and I've even tried it on different players.  I can only think it might have to do with where you might be listening to it.  Are you listening on your phone?  Did you download it?  Or are you streaming it?  What are you using to play it?

Thanks Michael,

Tried it on my Iphone under podcasts and the music at the beginning and end work and nothing I between.

I also tried the link on WA and it played ok until the talking started.

Was the talking recorded in a different format?

Just tried my iPad and it works. Got me baffled though ok now.

Nothing is different about the way it was recorded except for the microphone Babz used - but I don't see any way that could have anything to do with the problem you're describing.   It's probably got something to do with the iPhone or iPad.  I've tried using Quicktime to play it but it works completely fine for me.   Do other editions work?

What did you do to make it ok?  I might need to tell other people?

It still doesn't work on my iPhone even after i deleted it and reloaded it. No idea why.

I did the same on my ipad and it worked. No idea what the difference was?

Thanks babz,

I often listen but never seem to finish a show, too many young kids, so I infrequently leave a 'thank you'. My apologies.

Anyway a good show, useful chat and lots of words of wisdom.

Now, this may not lead to you to lose sleep with excitement, but i want you to know that once i have that feature that is worthy, i will be speaking to your first, and i feel WA and SS writers have that in common. After all, you provide a service that few of us mortals can obtain and i really appreciate the option being there.

I also want to reinforce that I have listened to what you say and am aiming for the unique concept, low budget script, since outside of that the chances are damn slim.

As an example, my recent feature has been praised for reversing a concept, a good same but different idea, but its not micro budget and its not 'good enough' - so you wont see it, as you have enough on your plate with quality writers like splesh2!!

but one day...

All the best.

Hi all, if you're having trouble hearing this podcast on your iPhone - it's apparent that some recent changes in IOS have caused this issue for a number of podcasts. I'll address this issue from the technical side in the next Buzz edition - in the meantime there's several solutions to this problem.

1. Listen to it on something other than your iPhone.

2. Create an AAC version of the podcast on your phone - you can do this by https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4656414?tstart=0

3. Use an app called Zodplay and try using this ogg file. http://ia801901.us.archive.org/5/items/BabzBuzz029/BabzBuzz029.ogg
