Hey all,

Ok since there where no takers, here is a pic of the plaque that use to be on the bench.  Yep... Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant in "Notting Hill"

About half way through the movie they jump a fence and walk into a private garden where this bench once sat. It's now in Perth Australia.

Ah! That's why it was in Perth.  I didn't think she made any movies in Perth - which was why I didn't guess.

Thanks Michael,

After the movie was finished a person from Perth purchased it as a symbol of his love for his girlfriend and had it packed up and shipped to Perth.

He proposed to his girlfriend and it was going to be his gift of love to her though was absolutely gutted when she said NO.

He then donated it to the City of Perth in 2002, who placed it in Queens Garden where it gets locked up every night.

I have to honestly say it is so damn exciting seeing it, touching it and knowing Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant read the inscription and sat there.
