Worst birthdays
« on: May 26, 2013, 03:57:58 PM »
Our birthdays are supposed to be extraordinary days not like any other day of the year. Whether you still get excited about your birthday, or not, it should theoretically still be a day that goes your way and nothing bad happens... That would be in an ideal world.

Unfortunately, we don't live in an ideal world and often birthdays seem more just like your average day than anything special.

What was your worst birthday and why?

Mine was probably on my tenth birthday when I ended up in tears because no one was treating me like it was my "special day". I didn't like not being the center of attention.

To show my age, 41. 40 was a Celebration, 41 was just another later :-(

 :(

It was my first birthday.

All I got was clothes.
I cried so hard, I shit my pants.
Just awful.

My worst birthday wasn't anything special. I was doing the things I always do; movie, dinner, home. Except, it was pouring that day. Nothing wrong with that, as I like it when it rains. So, my mom and I leave to go to the theater and her car won't start. The Check Engine light is on and things aren't going so well. So, we decide to drive the gimped out car to a car rental place two miles away. She needed a rental because she had work in the morning. However, since it was Sunday, repair shop wasn't open. So, my mom took the rental car (since I wasn't 25 and couldn't drive it) and I drove her car 30 miles through the second-worst rainstorm we had that summer where we took it to the dealership. By the time we got there, I didn't even want to go anywhere. I'm not big on going places anyway, but that day was enough for me. So, we just went home and that was that.

I've thought about this but I can't really come up with any birthday that I've had that was horrible.  I can think of some parties that didn't go too well but they weren't ON my birthday.   So, no idea - or maybe I've just blocked it out.

I have to say my worst birthday was when I turned one.

I must have been pissed because I don't remember it to well.

I don't celebrate my birthday so I can't say which one was the worst or best.

Pretty much agree with Pia, don't really celebrate mine. I usually end up working and then going home and sleeping.
Why don't we just...wait here for a little while...see what happens?
